Summerville: Past, Present & Future
How did Summerville become the community we know today, and what will shape it in the decades ahead?
Steve Yeomans, President of the Summerville Museum and Research Center Board of Directors, will take us back through the history of “New Summerville,” including the role the railroad played in the town’s growth and development and how Old and New Summerville eventually came together.
Then, Rita Berry, President/CEO of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce, will look ahead through Envision 2047 and share how the community vision is considering growth, preservation, public spaces, gateways and the places that give Summerville its unique identity.
Join us for a look at Summerville’s past, present, and future and how the places and decisions that shape our community also influence the way visitors experience Summerville and the story we share with them.
